The Carolina Panthers will be relying on their backup quarterback for the second time this season as Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has named Derek Anderson the Panthers starter versus the Buccaneers. Cam Newton was ruled out earlier today due to the two small fractures he suffered in his back in a car accident Tuesday.

Derek Anderson started week one for the Panthers when Newton was recovering from a rib fracture. Anderson was able to lead them to victory and ironically it was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Even with the way the Panthers season has gone, they still have a chance at making the playoffs. Thanks, NFC South.
