Derrick Rose’s Meniscus Surgery Successful: Out 4-6 Weeks

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose underwent surgery on his torn lateral meniscus today. This is the 3rd major knee surgery for Rose, but this time it won’t end his season, according to Bulls general manager Gar Forman. Rose had a MRI on Tuesday that reveled the tear in his knee.

Rose is expected to take the full 6 weeks to rehab his knee, and gear up for a late March return, right about the time the NBA playoffs start.

The Bulls will be relying on Aaron Brooks and Kirk Hinrich for now at the point guard spot, without Rose’s 18.4 points, 5 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.
