The Miami Heat started their week off on the right foot, as they defeat the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 119-108. Several Heat players played key roles tonight like Hassan Whiteside, Dwyane Wade, Henry Walker, Mario Chalmers, and Chris Andersen, but new Heat player Goran Dragic and Luol Deng stole the show.
Luol Deng put on a show tonight, as he dropped 29 points on 11-14 shooting. Deng also tacked on 3 rebounds. In Dragic’s second game with the Heat, Dragic went all out, getting a double double. Dragic had 23 points on 9-14 shooting with 10 assists, giving him his first double-double as member of the Miami Heat.
Hassan Whiteside recorded his 11th double-double of the season, with 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade chipped in 18 points and 4 assists in just 23 minutes of action. Another good stat line for the Heat was Henry Walker’s 11 points in his Heat debut.
For the 76ers, Nerlens Noel and Hollis Thompson lead the way as Noel had 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Thompson had 22 points off the bench in 28 minutes. Robert Covington and and Henry Sims also had solid games, as Covington had 16 and Sims had 12.
The Heat (24-31) head off to nearby Orlando to take on the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. The 76ers (12-44), will stay on the road as they will travel Milwaukee to take on the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night.
