Michael Beasley is considered a “bust” as back in the 2008 NBA Draft the Miami Heat picked Beasley before Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, and many other players who can be considered stars today. The move still haunts the Heat to this day, but they’ve never gave up on Beasley. The player that most likely never gave up on him was all-star guard Dwyane Wade. He had the following to say on Beasley being back on the Heat.
“Even you guys would be happy for him. When you cover a guy for so long, you want to see him succeed.”
When the Heat originally signed Beasley to a ten-day deal, Wade also showed high praise for Beasley.
“He can score from anywhere on God’s green earth.”
Beasley has played fairly well for the Heat during his ten-day deal. He is averaging 9.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 3 games this season. Beasley’s ten-day contract with the Heat expires on March 9th after the Heat play the Celtics, and it’s likely the Heat extend him further.
