Falcons cut Steven Jackson

After two years with the Atlanta Falcons, running back Steven Jackson has been cut by the team, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jackson had one year remaining on a three-year 12 million dollar contract with a guaranteed 4 million dollars. Cutting Jackson frees up 3.7 million in cap space for the Falcons.

Jackson rushed for  707 yards last season on 190 carries with 6 touchdowns last season. Jackson turns 32 in July, and could be picked up by a team needing a running back or depth at the running back position.
