After two years with the Atlanta Falcons, running back Steven Jackson has been cut by the team, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jackson had one year remaining on a three-year 12 million dollar contract with a guaranteed 4 million dollars. Cutting Jackson frees up 3.7 million in cap space for the Falcons.

Jackson rushed for 707 yards last season on 190 carries with 6 touchdowns last season. Jackson turns 32 in July, and could be picked up by a team needing a running back or depth at the running back position.
