Manning, who will be desperate to avoid 0-3, should have a solid game vs a weaker opponent.

RB Matt Jones (WAS)

Jones’ performance last week was no fluke. Expect him to get plenty of touches Thursday.

WR Pierre Garcon (WAS)

With DeSean Jackson out, Garcon has become one of Cousins’ favorite targets.

TE Jordan Reed (WAS)

Along with Garcon, Reed has also become a target machine so far.

Sit Em:

RB Rashad Jennings/Shane Vereen (NYG)

There’s too many touches being spread around for one of them to be a viable starter.

RB Alfred Morris (WAS)

Matt Jones looks like the guy now. Morris is not a play as of now

Pittsburgh Steelers at St. Louis Rams

Nick Foles, QB (STL)

Foles is going up against arguably the worst pass defense in the league this week. If you’re hurting at QB, Foles is a good solution for this week.

RB DeAngelo Williams (PIT)

He’s been great the last two weeks, but he’s no longer starting with Bell’s return

All Other Rams (STL)

Foles like to spread the ball around to his receivers, while neither of the running backs are good options.

Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys

Automatic Plays: QB Matt Ryan, WR Julio Jones (ATL)

Start ‘Em:

TE Jason Witten (DAL)

Witten should be a target machine, as Brandon Weeden will need someone to check down to.

RB Devonta Freeman (ATL)

Freeman is all alone in the backfield this week. He should make for a solid FLEX play.

Falcons Defense (ATL)

Brandon Weeden is starting. Need I say more?

Sit ‘Em:

All Other Cowboys (DAL)

With Brandon Weeden starting, who knows how well the other Cowboys will produce?

Oakland Raiders at Cleveland Browns

Automatic Plays: RB Latavius Murray (OAK), WR Amari Cooper (OAK)

Start ‘Em:

RB Isaiah Crowell (CLE)

Crowell has emerged as the leader of the Browns’ crowded backfield

Sit ‘Em:

WR Travis Benjamin (CLE)

Benjamin’s fast start appears fluky, as he’s only caught 6 balls so far. Don’t fall into the trap of playing him.

Both Defenses

Just like it’s hard to trust either offense, it’s hard to trust either defense too.

Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots

Automatic Plays: QB Tom Brady, WR Julian Edelman, TE Rob Gronkowski, Patriots Defense (NE)

Start ‘Em:

RB TJ Yeldon, WR Allen Robinson (JAX)

Expects the Jaguars’ playmakers to make big contributions, especially in garbage time.

RB Dion Lewis (NE)

Belichek seems to love using Lewis. He also has a solid matchup.

Sit ‘Em:

RB LeGarrette Blount (NE)

With Lewis emerging, Blount isn’t much of an option right now

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers

Automatic Plays: WR Brandin Cooks (NO), QB Cam Newton, TE Greg Olsen (CAR)

Start ‘Em:

Jonathan Stewart, RB (CAR)

This is one of Stewart’s best matchups this year.

Carolina Defense (CAR)

Carolina’s defense has been great so far, no reason to turn back now.

Sit ‘Em:

QB Drew Brees (NO)

Brees will most likely be playing hurt vs one of the NFL’s best defenses

RB Mark Ingram (NO)

Don’t expect much from Ingram against Carolina’s run defense

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets

Automatic Plays: WR Jordan Matthews (PHI), RB Chris Ivory, Jets Defense (NYJ)

Start ‘Em:

Brandon Marshall (NYJ)

Marshall has had a TD in his first two games. I expect him to keep contributing with Eric Decker hurt.

Sit ‘Em:

QB Sam Bradford (PHI)

Bradford has looked abysmal so far. Not an option vs a defense that made Andrew Luck look bad.

RB DeMarco Murray (PHI)

We all know about Murray’s horrendous start. Expect it to continue against the Jets’ stout run D.

WR Eric Decker (NYJ)

Decker will likely miss the game with a knee injury.

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans

Automatic Plays: QB Andrew Luck, WR T.Y. Hilton (IND)

Start ‘Em:

QB Marcus Mariota (TEN)

Mariota is a solid start vs a banged up Colts secondary.

WR Kendall Wright (TEN)

Wright struggled last week, but should rebound vs a depleted secondary.

RB Frank Gore (IND)

Hopefully Gore won’t fumble at the 1-yard line this week.

WR Donte Moncrief (IND)

Moncrief will continue to play well. He and Luck seem to have a great rapport.

Sit ‘Em:

RB Bishop Sankey (TEN)

The Colts looked solid vs the run Monday night.

TE Delanie Walker (TEN)

Walker could receive many targets, but I wouldn’t trust the banged-up receiver just yet.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Houston Texans

Automatic Plays: WR DeAndre Hopkins (if he plays), Texans Defense (HOU)

Start ‘Em:

WR Mike Evans (TB)

Evans didn’t have a catch last week, but he’ll fare better this time around.

WR Cecil Shorts (HOU)

Especially if Hopkins is out, I like Shorts as a WR3 this week. He racked up 12 targets last week and could get more this week.

Buccaneers Defense (TB)

Whether Mallett or Hoyer is throwing, turnovers are expected.

Sit ‘Em:

RB Doug Martin (TB)

Martin should have a down week vs the Texans’ great run defense

Texans Running Backs (HOU)

Foster won’t return yet, and the rest of them are not good options.

San Diego Chargers at Minnesota Vikings

Automatic Plays: QB Philip Rivers (SD), RB Adrian Peterson (MIN)

Start ‘Em:

RB Melvin Gordon (SD)

Gordon should run all over the Vikings’ poor run defense

WR Keenan Allen, Stevie Johnson (SD)

Johnson should continue to get end zone targets, while Allen will come back from last week’s disaster of a start.

TE Kyle Rudolph (MIN)

Rudolph could find the endzone again if the recievers struggle.

Sit ‘Em:

QB Teddy Bridgewater

Unless you’re in a 2QB league, Bridgewater should likely be limited vs the Chargers’ solid secondary.

WR Charles Johnson, Mike Wallace (MIN)

Expect the receivers to be limited as well.

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens

Automatic Plays: WR AJ Green, TE Tyler Eifert (CIN), WR Steve Smith (BAL)

Start ‘Em:

QB Andy Dalton (CIN)

Ravens defense has struggled to defend the pass so far. Dalton could have a nice game.

RB Jeremy Hill (CIN)

Despite last week’s abomination, Hill will remain a weekly start

RB Justin Forsett (BAL)

Forsett has struggled so far, but he’s still worth a start

Sit ‘Em:

RB Giovani Bernard (CIN)

Bernard won’t have quite the production he enjoyed last week.

 

San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals

Automatic Plays: QB Carson Palmer, WR Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals Defense (ARI)

John Brown (ARI)

Palmer looks great, and the 49ers don’t have the personnel to cover Brown.

QB Colin Kaepernick (SF)

Not against this defense.

RB Carlos Hyde (SF)

Not only does he have a tough matchup, but he’s also dealing with injuries

Cardinals Running Backs

I think David Johnson will break out soon, but Chris Johnson is unrightfully taking away his touches.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

Automatic Plays: RB LeSean McCoy, Bills Defense (BUF), QB Ryan Tannehill, WR Jarvis Landry, Dolphins Defense (MIA)

Start ‘Em:

QB Tyrod Taylor (BUF)

Taylor is a borderline QB1 due to his rushing ability.

WR Sammy Watkins (BUF)

Watkins will have his first big game of the year. Plug him in.

WR Rishard Matthews (MIA)

Matthews is a sleeper choice this week. Tannehill has been targeting him often so far.

Sit ‘Em:

RB Lamar Miller (MIA)

Miller has played poorly so far, and it’s likely to continue vs the Bills defense.

Both Tight Ends

Neither Jordan Cameron (MIA) nor Charles Clay (BUF) are intriguing options this week.

Sit ‘Em:

WR Alshon Jeffrey, TE Martellus Bennett (CHI)

Two good reasons not to start them: Legion of Boom, and Jimmy Clausen.

Russel Wilson enjoys spreading the ball around.

Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions

Automatic Plays: QB Peyton Manning, WR Deymarius Thomas, WR Emmanuel Sanders (DEN), Calvin Johnson (DET)

Start ‘Em:

Broncos Defense (DEN)

The Broncos defense should continue to impress vs a banged-up Stafford.

Sit ‘Em:

RB CJ Anderson (DEN)

Try to look for other options if possible. Anderson may eventually rebound, but it likely won’t be this Sunday.

RB Ameer Abdullah (DET)

Abdullah should be avoided vs the Broncos’ run defense.

WR Golden Tate (DET)

Tate hasn’t exactly impressed so far, and with Stafford banged up, he could be even more limited.

Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers

Automatic Plays: QB Aaron Rodgers, WR Randall Cobb (GB) RB Jamaal Charles, TE Travis Kelce (KC)

Start Em:

WR James Jones, Davante Adams (GB)

As long as Rodgers is around, Jones and Adams will be automatic plays each week.

WR Jeremy Maclin (KC)

Maclin has struggled so far, but he’s dealt with two tough matchups. This week should be easier for him.

Packers Defense (GB)

If you’re stuck on defense, the Packers are usually a solid play week-to-week.

Sit Em:

RB Eddie Lacy, James Starks (GB)

Eddie Lacy’s status most likely won’t be known until Monday. Unless you have both players, you should try to look elsewhere at RB.
