The New York Yankees currently sit at 44-39 on the season, which is good enough for 1st place in the American League East. If you know anything about baseball, you know that the AL East is so tight that the last place Boston Red Sox are only out of first by 5 games. If you want to make the postseason for sure in the AL East, you’re going to have to make some moves at the trading deadline. Here are five players the Yankees may want to consider trading for.
#5 Yovani Gallardo
Yovani Gallardo’s scoreless inning streak ended at 33 1/3 innings during his last start, but that’s not the only thing good about Gallardo’s first season with the Rangers. Gallardo has a 2.67 earned run average is good enough for 7th in the American League and 16th in all of Major League Baseball. Sure, Gallardo doesn’t have the strikeout pitch like he used to before, but he would be a great add to the Yankees rotation that could possibly get CC Sabathia out of the rotation and into the bullpen
