The Philadelphia Flyers gained two points tonight with a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers. The Flyers, who were coming off a tough loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, started the game off with a goal from Matt Read which was the 6th on his season. After the Rangers opening goal was called off due to an off-sides penalty. The Rangers however, scored the opening goal with J.T. Miller’s 6th goal on the year.

The Flyers gained the momentum in the final period, by scoring a short-handed goal which was Michael Del Zotto’s 8th goal on the year. Claude Grioux was not in the play, due to him slashing Derick Brassard just before the 3rd period started.

Steve Mason wasn’t giving up anything in the 3rd period, as he was solid throughout the game as he finished with 34 saves out of 36, which is great for someone returning from injury. Wayne Simmonds also added in his 25th goal on this season, when the Rangers pulled their goalie late in the 3rd.
