Former Brewers Minor League Star Hunter Morris Traded to the Pirates

With no room left on the Brewers Triple-A team the Colorado Spring Sky Sox, the Milwaukee Brewers have decided to trade first basemen Hunter Morris to their rival the Pittsburgh Pirates in-exchange for a player to be named later. Morris, who has a 4th round pick by the Brewers in 2010, was the guy many Brewers fans could replace Prince Fielder’s production at 1st base. Things have fallen off for him ever since.

Morris was the Brewers minor league player of the year in 2012, as he batted .307 with 28 home runs for the Brewers that year, as it seemed like time was keeping him out of Milwaukee. Morris could never find his grove at the next level at AAA, and was overcame by Matt Clark last season.

Morris was 3-13 during spring training for the Brewers with four strikeouts.
