The Houston Astros announced earlier today that they’re placing outfielder George Springer on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured wrist that was suffered in yesterday’s Royals-Astros game when Springer was hit on the wrist by a fastball from Edison Volquez. Springer is not expected to be back for at least six weeks.
Springer is batting .264 with 13 home runs and 29 runs batted in through 75 games this season for the Astros prior to his stint on the disabled list.
