Joe Frisaro of MLB.com is reporting that Miami Marlins star Giancarlo Stanton is scheduled to begin a rehab game with Single-A Jupiter tomorrow, which would be the first rehab game for him since breaking his right hand on June 27th.
If the weather is good, and Stanton doesn’t suffer any setbacks, Stanton could return and come off the disabled list on Friday when the Marlins play the New York Mets.
“We should know something once we get to Atlanta,” manager Dan Jennings said after the Marlins’ 7-4 loss to the Nationals on Sunday.
“Hopefully, he can have some at-bats, test his wrist and see where he is,” Jennings also added.
Stanton was on pace to hit 60 plus home runs this year, and if he returns and is able to do well, he could post his 4th career 30 plus home run season. He is currently at 27 on the year, and is projected to finish with 33 of them when he returns.
