Miami Marlins superstar outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has been out since June 26th when he suffered a left hamate fracture during a swing. After surgery, there was optimistic hope that Stanton would be able to return to the Marlins in six weeks. Now, there is doubt by Stanton and the Marlins that will happen, as rehab is going slower than expected.

“Definitely slower,” Stanton said. “That’s the generation of your whole swing is that turnover [with] your hand and your wrist. I know what a sore wrist feels like, and now with a broken hand and the sore wrist, it takes a little longer.”

There is no timetable for Stanton’s return. The star outfielder is batting .265 with 27 home runs and 67 runs batted in on the year.
