The Miami Heat have just boosted their chances as far as the playoff run goes, as the Heat learned today that breakout center Hassan Whiteside has been cleared to resume playing basketball. Whiteside, who cut his hand on the rim while trying to block a Miles Plumlee dunk on March 24th.

Whiteside received ten stitches in his hand as a result of the play. Whiteside says he plans on playing in the Heat’s game tomorrow versus the San Antonio Spurs. Whiteside missed the Heat’s last three games in which the team went 2-1.
Whiteside is averaging a near double-double, with 11 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game in 41 games this season with the Heat.
