Hassan Whiteside ‘Could’ be out Two Weeks With Hand Injury

Hassan suffered quite the un-lucky injury during the Miami Heat’s game versus the Bucks a couple of days ago. While trying to block a Miles Plumlee dunk from behind, Whiteside whiffed at the ball, but his hand paid quite the price as it came down hard on the rim. Whiteside tore his hand open, and he said you could see the meat.

“I looked down and saw the meat and I knew it was bad.”

Whiteside needed 10 stitches between his middle and ring fingers to fix up his hand, and isn’t yet exactly sure when he plans to return, but it shouldn’t be no longer than two weeks.

“You got to be careful with stitches,” Whiteside said. “You don’t want to open it up or get it infected. So they basically said day to day. We will see what happens.”

The Heat plays the Hawks in Atlanta tomorrow, and are expected to have Dwyane Wade (knee) back for the game while Hassan Whiteside’s status is still up in the air for the game.
