Heat ink Gerald Green to one-year $1.4 Million Dollar Contract

The Heat’s bench during the 2014-2015 was the 3rd worst bench in the NBA only scoring and average of 14.2 bench points per game night in and night out. Pat Riley is on a mission to re-tool the bench, as he has signed high flyer Gerald Green to a one-year deal worth $1.4 million.

This is a great pick up for the Heat in a number of ways. Goran Dragic wants the Heat to play at a faster pace this season, and a guy that runs the fast break like Gerald Green is the perfect fit. Green had more 15 plus point games than anyone on the Heat’s bench last year as the Heat’s bench players combined had 23 15 plus point games while Green had 26.

Green averaged 11.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 74 regular season games for the Phoenix Suns during the 2014-2015 season.
