Beno Udrih is going back to the Miami Heat, on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million.
The veteran 34-year-old point guard Udrih appeared in 36 games for the Heat in 2015-2016. He averaged 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 43% from the field.
After suffering a foot injury in February, Udrih accepted a contract buyout from Miami which pushed the team under the luxury tax line and allowed them to sign veteran guard/forward Joe Johnson. Udrih reportedly had a ‘standing invitation’ to return to the Heat if he was un-able to find a better deal elsewhere.

With the signing of Udrih, the Heat now have 15 players under a guaranteed contract, while Briante Weber, Rodney McGruder, Okaro White, and Stefan Jankovic are all on non-guaranteed deals. Udrih is expected to be Miami’s back-up point guard behind fellow Slovenia Goran Dragic.
