Jazz G Alec Burks (Ankle) to be Sidelined at Least Six Weeks

Utah Jazz combo guard Alec Burks suffered a fractured left ankle in the Jazz’s 109-104 to the Clippers on Saturday night after he was injured on a foul by Clippers small forward Paul Pierce, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Burks will remain wearing a walking boot, as the fracture was discovered earlier today in Utah.

Rodney Hood and Joe Ingles are likely to receive an increased role in the Jazz’s rotation as a result of Burks’ injury. Burks signed a four-year $42 million extension that began this season, and he was averaging 14.3 points and 3.6 assists prior to this ankle injury.

Burks joins Dante Exum and Rudy Gobert on the list of key injuries to the Jazz this season, and the Jazz are hopeful to get Gobert back sometime soon.
