The Tennessee Titans used their second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft to select quarterback Marcus Mariota out of Oregon. Many thought Mariota would be a bust because Eagles head coach Chip Kelly didn’t trade up to get him and use him in Oregon’s offense in the NFL. Titans quarterback head coach John McNutly thinks different though, as he says Mariota is learning the offense pretty fast.
“The fact that we’ve been able to handle it makes it a lot easier,” McNulty said, per ESPN.com. “There hasn’t been any point where we’ve said, ‘OK guys this is too much.’ He’s been eating it up pretty quickly.”
The Titans are also likely to use Mariota in the shotgun, a place where 65% of their plays came from last season. Mariota also has the highest selling jersey in the NFL as of right now.
