The Milwaukee Brewers announced today that all-star catcher Jonathan Lucroy will miss 4-6 weeks with a hamstring strain. According to Brewers assistant manger Gord Ash, Lucroy’s agent called him to tell him about the hamstring injury, and didn’t go into detail about how the injury occurred. Lucroy was the best hitter on the Brewers last season with a batting average of .301.
Lucroy was 4th in NL MVP voting last year with a .301 batting average, 13 home runs, and 69 runs batted in 153 games last season with the Brewers. The Brewers expect Lucroy to be ready by the time Opening Day rolls around for them on April 6th, when they take on the Colorado Rockies.
