We now know how dangerous shoot around can be thanks to Kelly Olynyk. The Boston Celtics big men was elbowed by teammate Shavlik Randolph right in his eye. Celtics head coach Brad Stevens provided some information on Olynyk’s eye.
“Kelly was playing his typical, one-one-one pregame with Shavlik [Randolph] and got elbowed in the eye,” said Brad Stevens. “His eye blew up and so he went to the ophthalmologist to get sutured up and hopefully get some swelling down. It swelled up right away. I’d say he’s very unlikely tonight but I have not heard the final word from the doctors.”
Olynyk was then listed as doubtful for the Celtics game versus the Pacers. However, Olynyk showed some hockey player toughness and him and apparently played in the game. We can only hope his toughness reflects in his performance now.
