The Houston Astros called on their ace Dallas Keuchel to get them to the American League Division Series, and he did just that, and then some.
The Cy Young favorite in the American League tossed six shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out seven. He retired 10 Yankee batters in a row up until a Carlos Beltran single, the last hit the Yankees were able to get all game.
“Unbelieveable to come into their place and play extremely well”, Keuchel said on the game.
Outfielders Colby Rasmus and Carlos Gomez both hit first pitch home runs with Rasmus hitting his one to right and Gomez hitting his to left. Jose Altuve tacked on an RBI single, and that was it for the offense tonight.
“I can’t explain how I feel”, Carlos Gomez said on the Astros performance. He requested to be in the lineup for the Astros today, and it sure paid off.
The Astros will now travel to Kansas City to take on the Royals in the ALDS, who won the American League last year, and are the favorites to win it again.
