Kevin McHale, Rockets Agree to New Contract

Kevin McHale was one of the few coaches who had potentially had their job on the line entering the 2014-2015 season. With the Houston Rockets 20-7 start this season, the Rockets have decided to hang onto McHale for another 3 years. The Houston Rockets officially announced McHale’s new contract via their official team website

The Houston Rockets announced today that they have agreed to a three-year contract extension with head coach Kevin McHale. As the 12th head coach of the Houston Rockets, McHale, has led the team to one of the most successful periods in franchise history.  The fourth year coach holds a career-record of 153-104 (.595) with the Houston Rockets, making McHale the winningest coach in franchise history by win percentage.

“Kevin is an integral part of the Rockets family,” said Rockets owner Leslie Alexander, “He embodies the leadership, passion, knowledge, and team-first qualities we need as we continue our pursuit of bringing another NBA Championship to the City of Houston and Rockets fans all over the world.”
