While Kobe Bryant’s contract with the Lakers is up after the 2015-2016 NBA season, Kobe Bryant isn’t thinking about retirement even though that’s what’s on everyone else’s mind. At Lakers media day yesterday, Kobe refused to give a timetable on the rest of his career and that could be a bad or good sign however you want to think about it. Kobe spoke more on his career:
“Whether I do or not, we’ll have to see that two years from now,” Bryant stated. “I don’t know, but I could [play longer]. Physically, I don’t see an end to the tunnel…”
Michael still left on his terms because he wanted to leave,” Bryant said. “If he wanted to continue to play the game, he’d continue to play the game even if it’s not at the level that we are all accustomed to. You want to play, you play. You don’t want to play, you walk away. But at least it’s not because of a devastating injury.
“For me, it’s the same thing. When I leave, it’s because I choose to.”
Kobe Bryant has no doubt enjoyed one of the most memorable careers during his time in the NBA and no matter how much he denies it, we all know his career is winding down.
