Yesterday, the Minnesota Twins won the bidding rights to Korean star 1st baseman Byung-ho Park. Park smacked 53 home runs with 146 runs batted in while batting .346 on the season, being a key player for the Nexen Heroes in 2015.

With the Twins winning the rights to Park, you can expect the team to lock him up for at least three years and play him at 1st base and sometimes even designated hitter to make sure the former American League MVP Joe Mauer can continue to get some playing time.

If we place Park at 1st base, the Twins infield would have every position with a player under the age of 30 starting:

1B: Byung-ho Park

2B: Brian Dozier

SS: Eduardo Escobar

3B: Trevor Plouffe

We also can’t forget about the most exciting player on the Twins last year in Miguel Sano. Sano, who is just 22-years-old played 11 games in the field out of 80, so he’ll likely be the team’s designated hitter for most games in the near future.

The outfield can potentially be great, but that means that former top prospect Byron Buxton needs to take a big leap in 2016. The Twins have a solid rotation and a good bullpen that features one of the best closers in the game in Glen Perkins.

While there’s no telling how Park himself will do going up against higher quality pitching in Major League Baseball, it’s hard to not like the addition by the Twins.
