We know the Lakers are never afraid to target big name free agents, and that was on display last Summer. The Lakers reportedly made pitches to players like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh, trying to get them to the Lakers. The Lakers will reportedly be looking for a point guard this Summer, and it turns out that the team would prefer Rajon Rondo over Goran Dragic this Summer.
Rondo, who is good friends with current Lakers star Kobe Bryant, will become a free agent this off-season along with Dragic, but the Lakers probably like the friend factor with Rondo and Kobe a little more then bringing in Dragic to try to get chemistry in that may take a while. Bryant has also been recruiting Rondo the Lakers. He even said he won’t stop unless he signs with an extension with the Mavericks.
“No way,” Bryant said. “I’m not done. I’m not stopping until he signs an extension.”
The Lakers will have about 30 million dollars in cap space available this Summer, which could be huge in getting Rondo and other players in Los Angeles for the 2015-2016 season.
