During NBA free agency, some unpredictable things can happen and we’ve seen examples of that this off-season. The Indiana Pacers tried to retain their starting shooting guard this off-season while the Charlotte Hornets were in search of a shooting guard, and were able to land one in Stephenson. The Dallas Mavericks and Lance Stephenson agreed to a two-year deal verbally but it never was able to be finished.

The question arises, the Mavericks had Monta Ellis already, why would they target another shooting guard? Oh the questions NBA free agency brings us each and very year.
