The Detroit Lions will be without cornerback Darius Slay versus the Houston Texans on Sunday due to a hamstring injury, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Slay sustained the injury in the Lions’ win over the Washington Redskins last week after covering a deep route. Detroit is expected to start Johnson Bademosi in his place on Sunday, who has shined brightly on special teams.
It is un-clear how much time Slay will miss with the hamstring tweak, but all signs point towards it being a multi-week injury, as Slay was a non-participant in Lions practice the entire week.
The 25-year-old Slay has recorded 22 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception, and 8 pass deflections so far this season.
