There weren’t any blockbuster trades in the NBA today after we heard about guys like Hassan Whiteside, Dwight Howard, Al Horford, Jeff Teague, Kevin Love, and Blake Griffin potentially being available in trade, but there is still plenty to discuss, and we have a full recap for you here of the NBA’s trading deadline:

The Miami Heat and the New Orleans Pelicans broke the ice today when the Heat sent young power forward Jarnell Stokes to the Pelicans in-exchange for a second round pick that the Heat may not even see. Miami will pay Stokes’ salary for the 2015-2016 season:

The next trade was between the Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets that will give Detroit and even stronger bench. Marcus Thornton and Donatas Motiejunas are now Pistons, and Joel Anthony and a protected 2016 1st rounder are headed to Houston.

The Los Angeles Clippers looked destined to land power forward Channing Frye in a trade from the Orlando Magic, but the Clippers reportedly didn’t accept Orlando’s offer, leading to the Cleveland Cavaliers coming in and landing Frye in a three-team trade involving the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Cavaliers will ship Anderson Varejao to the Blazers (who has already been waived by the team) and Jared Cunningham to Orlando. The Cavaliers will also be giving the Blazers a conditional first round pick for taking on Varejao’s contract, while the Magic will get a second round pick from Portland.

Channing Frye will be sent to the Cavs from Orlando, I'm told. Anderson Varejao will wind up in Portland. More to come.

With Andre Roberson‘s knee still causing him problems, the Oklahoma City Thunder acquired Randy Foye from the Denver Nuggets. D.J. Augustin and Steve Novak will be headed to Denver in the deal with two second round picks also.

Remember that second round pick that the Blazers lost in the Channing Frye deal? They made that up later today by making a trade with the Miami Heat to acquire point guard Brian Roberts from Miami and a second round pick.

This is the 3rd time this week that Roberts has been traded. He was originally a part of the Courtney Lee trade that sent Lee to Charlotte, with Roberts going to Memphis before the Heat flipped Chris Andersen and two second round picks for Roberts.

Brian Roberts, acquired by Miami from Charlotte, goes into Portland cap space, source says. Blazers also get 2nd-round pick.

The Phoenix Suns have FINALLY ended their saga with power forward Markieff Morris. He is headed to Washington D.C. Kris Humphries, DeJuan Blair, and a protected 2016 first round pick that will be protected in the top nine.

Phoenix has traded Markieff Morris to the Wizards, reports @ShamsCharania and @WojVerticalNBA.

These were all the trades that we knew of prior to the three eastern standard time trading deadline date, but as always, trades are coming out that weren’t first reported, and there is a pretty juicy one.

Kirk Hinrich has fell off in Chicago, so that’s why he’s going to Atlanta for a second round pick, and Grizzlies SF Jeff Green is headed to the Clippers in-exchange for Lance Stephenson.

We should have a few further in-depth articles coming up later about who won and lost the deadline, but this trading deadline can be remembered as contenders beefing their benches up and some team’s clearly salary.
