Matt Hasselbeck to Start Tonight vs. Texans in Place of Andrew Luck

40-year-old Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck started in place for Andrew Luck last Sunday versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, a game in-which Indy won 16-13 in overtime.

With the Colts playing on Thursday night this week on a shorten week, Hasselbeck will make another start in place for Andrew Luck tonight, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter also reports that it is unclear if Luck will dress for the game or not. If he doesn’t, Josh Johnson, who re-signed with the Colts yesterday would serve as Hasselbeck’s back-up for the second straight game. Luck has only been throwing lightly at practice this week, leaving doubt he would play.

This will be Hasselbeck’s second start ever for the Colts since joining the team in 2013. He threw for 282 yards on 47 attempts with one touchdown last week,
