About 22 hours ago, the New York Mets sent down top prospect Michael Conforto to make way for the roster spot of Yoenis Cespedes, who was acquired in a trade with the Tigers on July 31st. Now, the Mets are recalling Conforto from Triple-A Las Vegas, and placing outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis on the 15-day disabled list.
Conforto is batting .211 with 3 home runs through 19 at-bats in 6 games during his young Major League Baseball career.
