The protected first rounder that the Rockets are getting will be in the 2016 NBA Draft. The Nuggets are also sending a second round pick to the Rockets, which is a 2017 pick. Lawson averaged a near double-double for the Nuggets last season, averaging 15.2 points, and 9.6 assists per game with 3.1 rebounds to go with that in 75 games for the Nuggets during the 2014-2015 season.
Great move for the Rockets, as they finally get a great point guard alongside James Harden will keeping a guy who’s not to bad either to backup Lawson in Patrick Beverley.
