Orioles & Yovani Gallardo Agree to Three-Year Deal

In 2014 when Yovani Gallardo was a pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, he hit a walk-off double versus the Baltimore Orioles:

Gallardo finished 2014 with a 3.51 earned run average and a 8-11 win-loss record with 146 strikeouts over 192.1 innings in his final season with the Brewers before being traded to the Rangers in the 2015 season.

The Orioles were probably not just impressed with Gallardo’s hitting skills because the team and Gallardo have reportedly agreed to a three-year $35 million deal.

With the signing of Gallardo, the Orioles will give up their 2016 1st round pick in the MLB Draft which will be selection #14 overall. The Orioles are losing this pick because Gallardo rejected the one-year qualifying offer from the Rangers.

In 2015, Gallardo went 13-11 with a 3.42 earned run average with 121 strikeouts over 184.1 innings of work.
