With the Rangers losing starting third baseman Adrian Beltre to the disabled list for a little less than a month, the Texans Rangers have decided to call up one of Major League Baseball’s youngest prospects, third baseman/outfielder Joey Gallo. Gallo was ranked as a top 20 prospect coming into the season. Gallo, as expected, won’t be in the Majors long-term just yet.
Gallo blasted 42 home runs in 126 games between the Rangers Single-A and Double-A teams last season, and was hitting .314 with 9 home runs in Double-A this season.
