Report: Braves Attempting to Trade Nick Swisher

The Atlanta Braves have been working more and more on their rebuilding project so far this off-season, as shortstop Andrelton Simmons is the most notable name to be traded by the Braves so far.

More trades are expected to follow in the coming weeks, and it’s likely that outfielder/first baseman Nick Swisher will be gone by the start of Spring Training.

Per Mark Bowman of MLB.com:

Swisher slashed a miserable .196/.312/.320 with just six long balls over 76 games split between the Indians and the Braves. He is owed over $10 million next season.

I feel bad for Swish, but I’m still not sure why the Braves took him and Bourn off of the Tribe’s hands. Johnson was at least around replacement level.
