LaMarcus Aldridge could bolt the Portland Trail Blazers this Summer. The San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks are expected to make a heavy push for Aldridge along with another team has joined the running: the Boston Celtics. The Celtics however aren’t stopping at Aldridge, as they are trying to land Aldridge’s teammate Wesley Matthews as well.
Per A. Sherrod Blakely of CSN Northeast:
My understanding is the Celtics are going to be open to putting together some type of package deal where they would not only bring in LaMarcus Aldridge, they’d also bring in one of his good friends by the name of Wes Matthews.
Aldridge is expected to get a max contract this off-season worth 19 million while you can argue that Wesley Matthews could have also landed a max contract before his Achilles injury or if not a ton of money. Aldridge averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this season while Matthews averaged 15.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this season.
