Former number one overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft Greg Oden last played in the NBA for the Miami Heat during the 2013-2014 season where he averaged 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and .6 blocks per game for the Heat. Oden’s injuries have destroyed his career, but the 3rd time could be the charm for him as the Memphis Grizzlies might be interested in signing the big.

Per Shams Charania of Real GM:
past with a workout in the spring and potentially bringing in the former No. 1 overall NBA pick to a free-agent camp in June, league sources told RealGM. …
The Grizzlies’ current level of interest in Oden remains unclear, but the franchise is believed to be having a free-agent mini-camp in the upcoming weeks — like many organizations around the NBA. Oden is undecided in his possible participation there.
Oden’s close friend and former teammate, Mike Conley, spoke late this season about the possibility of Oden’s comeback. Surely, Oden’s comfort level with the Grizzlies rises with Conley’s stature on the team.
As Charania mentioned, Oden’s good friend from his Ohio State days Mike Conley is also on the Grizzlies. Which could be a huge key to getting Conley to stay in Memphis and getting Oden back in the NBA, which Conley and Oden both want.
“He’s talked about that he’s not ready to leave the game. I can tell you that,” Mike Conley said. “He wants to play.”
