Report: Heat in Contact With Free Agent PG Tony Wroten

Tony Wroten was waived by the Philadelphia 76ers about a month ago, and still hasn’t found another deal with a NBA team yet.

The Miami Heat are dealing with multiple injuries right now, especially at point guard, as Goran Dragic and Beno Udrih have both missed multiple games, leading the Heat to reportedly show interest in Wroten, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

The Heat made a due-diligence check-in recently on free agent 6-6 combo guard Tony Wroten, who was cut by Philadelphia Dec. 24, but hadn’t made an offer as of Thursday morning. He has averaged 11.1 points in four seasons, including 16.9 last season. He’s probably the best unsigned perimeter player available at the moment.

Wroten is still just 22-years-old with tremendous upside. Wroten played 72 games during the 2013-2014 season, but has struggled to remain healthy since. Nonetheless, Wroten could provide the Heat with some much needed help given their current situation.
