Report: Heat Make PG Goran Dragic Available Via Trade

The Miami Heat have “quietly” made point guard Goran Dragic available via trade, reports Lief Sylvander of Heat Beat Miami:

I’m told that quietly the Miami HEAT are making Goran Dragic available to teams in an attempt to add a young player and/or stockpile an additional first-round draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

The HEAT are willing to trade Dragic and would prefer to do so well in advance of the NBA Trade Deadline on Feb. 23, per sources.

Sylvander also notes in the same piece that Miami will also be intrigued by an offer that includes a future first-round pick and an established young player that they can pair with their young core talent of Hassan Whiteside, Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, and Tyler Johnson.

The San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, Houston Rockets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to be suitors for Dragic if/when trade talks ramp up in the near future.

Miami has struggled through their first ten games this season by posting a 2-8 record, which has also lead to an increasing feeling in the organization to move Dragic, sources said.

Dragic has missed Miami’s last three games due to an ankle injury, and is averaging 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game this season.
