Report: Jazz in Trade Discussions Regarding PG Trey Burke

Trey Burke hasn’t been what the Utah Jazz planned, and it seemed like the inevitable that one day the Jazz would look to move him for something.

Well, it looks like Burke could be moved this week, per Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune:http://www.sltrib.com/csp/mediapool/sites/Shared/assets/csp/iFrame/blank.html

The Utah Jazz have had multiple discussions with teams about a trade involving guard Trey Burke ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned from league sources.

Burke, a third-year guard out of Michigan, has missed the past three games against the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans because of the flu.

Burke was picked in the No. 9 overall in 2013 by the Jazz after a senior season at Michigan in which he was the national player of the year. Utah’s second first-round pick that year was Rudy Gobert via a trade with the Denver Nuggets.

Burke has lost his starting job to defensive-minded point guard Raul Neto, and with Neto doing a solid job by the Jazz’s standards and Dante Exum set to comeback next year, Burke is likely the odd man out.

The 23-year-old Burke is averaging 11.8 points, 2.6 assists, and 2 rebounds per game this year.
