Report: Kevin Garnett Will Re-Sign With the Timberwolves

We all expected this to happen, but when veteran power forward Kevin Garnett hits the free agency market on July 1st, he will in-fact re-sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves after he was traded from the Nets to the Timberwolves last season. Garnett will likely be used to mentor the young talent the Timberwolves have acquired the past two Summers, as he he played just five games for the Timberwolves last season.

Per Charley Walters of TwinCites.com

Although it hasn’t been announced, pending free agent Kevin Garnett definitely will re-sign with the Wolves, and Saunders definitely will return as coach.

The Timberwolves’ picked up Karl-Anthony Towns and Tyus Jones during the 2015 NBA Draft on Thursday. Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders called Towns’ workout with the Timberwolves the best workout he had seen since Garnett’s workout for the Timberwolves in 1995.

So that will make it easier for Towns and Garnett to connect. Garnett’s locker room persence will be huge for this Timberwolves team, a genius move for the Timberwolves in my opinion to bring him back and keep him, as many young teams in the NBA don’t have a veteran that knows how to win and has did almost everything. – Cough cough 76ers cough cough.
