Report: Magic Will Name Scott Skiles Next Head Coach This Week

The Orlando Magic were one of the teams linked to the rumors about them hiring Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau for most of April and May. Those rumors slowed down in the recent weeks, and it looks the Magic have found their guy anyway. The team is planning on naming Skiles their next head coach sometime this week.

Skiles last coached basketball from 2008-2013 when he was the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. During his tenure with the Bucks, the team went 162-182 under Skiles making the playoffs once before the two sides agreed to part ways in early January of 2013.

In 876 career games as a head coach, Skiles posted a record of 443-433 and a playoff record of 18-24 with his highest finish in the playoffs coming in the Semi-Finals during his tenure with the Chicago Bulls from 2003-2007.
