Yesterday, we told you that the Nationals and their ownership were very intrigued about Yoenis Cespedes.
Now let’s fast forward to today. The Nationals and Cespedes have picked up talks a lot, and according to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the talks are very serious by both sides.
So it appears that the Nationals are the front-runners for Cespedes, considering that every other Major League Baseball team this far besides the Orioles has been down playing the idea of having Cespedes on their team for multiple years.
In 159 games last season split between the Tigers and Mets, Cespedes slashed .291/.328/.542 with 35 home runs and 115 runs batted in.
