Eddie Lacy struggled for the Packers in 2015 due to injuries and what many people think was his weight. Lacy, who is listed by Wikipedia at 234 pounds was clearly out of shape, plain and simple.
While Lacy and the Packers were both unwilling to talk about Lacy’s weight during the regular season, it was brought up in Mike McCarthy’s final press conference of the season that Lacy needs to lose weight:
“Eddie Lacy has a lot of work to do,” McCarthy told reporters Monday, via Packers.com, the official Packers website. “I think I’m stating the obvious. His offseason last season was not good enough. He has to get it done. He cannot play at the weight he did this year.
When Lacy first entered the NFL in 2013, there were questions about his weight already, including a photo of him that wasn’t exactly him, but it has grown into a larger problem now, and the Packers want Lacy to shed some weight by the time training camp starts:
Key part of #Packers plan to return to dominance: GB wants Eddie Lacy to lose 30 pounds. He's committed to it, thru camp or fitness program

Lacy was a Pro Bowler his rookie season and a second-team All-Pro member. 2015 was his worst season, as Lacy saw career lows in carries, yards rushed, and rushing touchdowns.
Lacy will need a much better 2016 if he hopes to get an extension from the Packers.
