After Russell Westbrook was kneed in the face by teammate Andre Roberson during the Thunder’s game versus the Portland Trail Blazers, he was left with a dent in face. Westbrook then needed surgery to repair the dent, which forced him to miss the Thunder’s game versus the Lakers. Westbrook will return on Wednesday when the Thunder play the 76ers barring no setbacks.
Westbrook will wear a mask that will cover 3/4th’s of his face. Thunder coach Scott Brooks spoke on the mask.
“As we know Russell, I’m not so sure he can pull that off during fashion week. But if anyone can, he can,” Brooks said. “I mean, we’ve all seen he has some unique style of clothing he wears. But he’s going to be fine.
Brooks on Westbrook:
“He looked good today and it’s just how he feels tomorrow. I don’t want to jump the gun and say he’s going to for sure play, but he feels good today and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”
Westbrook is averaging 26.5 points, 8.1 assists, and 6.8 assists per game in 45 games for the Thunder this season.
