The “best corner in the game” could see some action at the position which he mostly covers in wide receiver according to NFL.com’s Kevin Patra. Seattle has struggled in the passing game this year ranked 30th in the NFL averaging 191.8 yards per game. Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll says Sherman is fully aware of the opportunity.
“He’s been very clear in that intent for a long time around here. “It’s always been a conversation that we’ve had, and if I need him, I’m going to him, and he knows that, he was a good receiver growing up and he has tremendous catching range and all that as we’ve witnessed in his defensive play, and he would love to do it. So he’s ready. If we get in an emergency situation, he knows I’m coming to him,” Carroll said in an interview with a radio station Friday.
Richard Sherman also chimed in on him playing receiver in a joking way:
I’d be pretty good. Shoot you can hardly touch ’em (wide receivers). So if you could hardly touch me, I’d have a nice day.”
However, Pete Carroll did state in his interview “emergency situation” so that could mean injuries but you never know.
