Richard Sherman could miss Super Bowl 49 on Sunday. Not due to injury, but due to a possible birth of his child. Richard Sherman did suffer a arm injury in the Seahawks NFC Championship win over the Packers 28-22, but a MRI revealed that he had nothing wrong in his arm. Should Richard Sherman miss the Super Bowl is one of the biggest questions in the sports world right now. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says its up to what Sherman wants to do.
“Whenever our players have a personal or family issue that comes up, it’s always about family first and they have to decide what’s best, and I support that,” – Pete Carroll said in a press conference Friday.
Richard Sherman had the following comments to say about his child on the way.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Richard Sherman said. “We’re not thinking about the possibility.”
“It’s someone that actually depends on you for everyday living,” Sherman said. “Everything they do is dependent on you and how you provide and how successful you are. As a parent, you want to set a great example for them, so I guess, to a degree, a lot of things are riding on it.”
“He’s going to be a disciplined young man and stay in there. He’s going to do his father his first favor.”
Richard Sherman is playing in the Super Bowl for the 2nd time. If it was the 1st time playing in the Super Bowl, I think he plays no doubt. I really think it comes down to what his girlfriend Ashley Moss thinks. If she is okay with him playing in the Super Bowl despite the child being born on Super Bowl Sunday, then Sherman should play.
We also can’t see how it will affect Sherman personally if he doesn’t or does go. It might over whelm him if he’s not there. So it’s only a matter of what Sherman thinks and what his girlfriend thinks.
