Earlier this month, we learned that Detroit Tigers pitcher Daniel Norris pitched most of the 2015 season with thyroid, a type of cancer.
Norris took to Instagram to give his an update on how he’s been since he announced the diagnosis, and it turns out that he is now officially cancer free following surgery.
“I just want to thank everyone for the thoughts & prayers,” Norris wrote. “Surgery was successful & I am Cancer Free.”
Norris was the key piece the Tigers acquired in the David Price deal in July. He went 3-2 with a 3.75 earned run average this year, and the 22-year-old now has a very bright future, and he’ll be able to start it all just in time for spring training.
