Titans’ Mariota (Knee) Will Have MRI on Monday

Sunday wasn’t a good day to be a Tennessee Titans fan or Marcus Mariota.

The Titans were blown out by the Miami Dolphins 38-10 yesterday, and Marcus Mariota didn’t have such a good game, turning the ball over four times and injuring his left knee on a low hit by Oliver Vernon. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Mariota will undergo a MRI On Monday to see the severity of the injury.

The Titans remain hopeful that Mariota suffered just a MCL injury, per Florio’s report:

The Titans are cautiously optimistic about the knee of quarterback Marcus Mariota, given that he was able to keep playing after suffering a low hit on Sunday.

But his status remains uncertain. Per a league source, the Titans hope it’s just an MCL injury, which can heal with rest. He’ll have an MRI on Monday to determine the full extent of the injury.

Mariota has thrown for 1,239 yards with 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on the year.
