Milwaukee Bucks rookie guard Malcolm Brogdon has been one of the best rookies from the 2016 NBA Draft class so far this season, and he made known once again on Saturday night.

The Bucks knocked off the Chicago Bulls for the third time this season 116-96, and in the game, Brogdon recorded his first career triple double with 15 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds in just his second career start.

“It shocked me when they said I was one assist away,” Brogdon said following Milwaukee’s 16th win of the season. “I was hunting the assist.

Before Matthew Dellavedova went down with a hamstring injury, Brogdon had been apart of head coach Jason Kidd‘s bench rotation, providing Kidd with terrific three-point shooting at a 44% clip.

Now that Brogdon has triple doubled in the starting lineup, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Dellavedova serve as Brogdon’s backup, as Dellavedova has struggled so far this season, shooting just 37% from the field.

“We’re holding him back; blame it on the coach,” Bucks coach Jason Kidd said with a grin after Brogdon’s career night. “He’s a special person. For him to be asked to start and run the team with Giannis and Jabari, he has handled everything we’ve thrown at him. He was great tonight.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker also had great performances alongside Brogdon. Antetokounmpo finished the game with 35 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 7 blocks, and 2 steals, while Parker finished with 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Brogdon is now averaging 8.3 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.5 points per game this season.
