VIDEO: Connor McDavid Scores First Goal Since Returning From Injury

Prior to tonight, Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid had been out 37 straight games with a fractured collarbone, and it’s been safe to say the Oilers haven’t been the same since the injury.

The 19-year-old McDavid, who is playing in his first game at age 19 tonight, had 12 points, five goals, and 7 assists in 13 games with the Oilers up until the injury, and he finally returned tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

And of course, McDavid scored, and he scored in a pretty sweet way:

The Oilers are also playing some sweet hockey right now, as they likely win their 20th game on the season, leading the Blue Jackets 4-1 after two full periods.

  1. I think that McDavid is going to make a great captain for the team. It has been a rough decade. I am an avid hockey fan but also a fan of business entrepreneurs like Daryl Katz . He paid $200 million for the Edmonton Oilers in 2008 and he is currently working to refocus his efforts to build Canada’s largest mixed use-sports and entertainment district, Rogers Place. He is by far one of the most successful businessmen in North America and I think he is beginning to move this team in the right direction. I am looking forward to seeing how the new arena and McDavid as captain help move to the team towards a Stanley Cup in the future.
